PLATFORM TENNIS NEWS . COM
INTRODUCES A NEW OWNER / EDITOR

“ I’m keeping my word, I am retiring”. That may be good news to some but the news gets even better for everyone. Under new ownership and management www.platformtennisnews.com will continue to be published. David Kjeldsen, a platform tennis Hall of Fame inductee, will be carrying on the message of this unique web site.

David is as “nuts” about the sport as I am, and I am “thrilled” (best word I can think of) to have him succeed me as the publisher of this web site. Unless you have had absolutely no contact with platform tennis in the past decade, David Kjeldsen needs no introduction. In fact I will spare you the details of his background by referring you to the American Platform Tennis Association (APTA) web site, www.platformtennis.org and directing you to the menu item “Hall of Fame” in the Oughties (year 2008). You will find a summary of his outstanding contribution to the game there. While David sold his platform tennis equipment business earlier this year to Prince Sports, Inc., he continues to be an advisor to the new “Viking” division of the company and also remains as head of the balance of his business in custom embroidery and screen printing located in Lindenhurst, Long Island, New York.

I have indicated to David that I expect to occasionally contribute an article to the web site but it will be his choice as to whether it should be published. As my life moves on, my connection with the leaders and players of the sport have diminished. I am no longer able to produce several interesting articles each month on a timely basis. I know David can do this and has a “flare” that will excite and interest platform tennis enthusiasts (isn’t everyone who plays?).

I’ve had a very rewarding five years. I was told when I started that it would be an “expensive hobby”. Fortunately, for all the technical aspects of the web site, I had expert assistance (very reasonably priced) from my daughter, Linda (a/k/a “Linner”). Along with me, she will also be “retiring” from her work on the site as David will turn to experienced and professional vendors going forward.

Thank you, my terrific visitors, for all your interest and please keep the web site address on your favorites list.
