MY SERVE!!
By David Kjeldsen

ACE – The APTA’s decision to try again to have all President’s Cup play on Thursday of National’s weekend and men’s play start on Friday. This hopefully will make the men’s portion of Nationals less of an endurance competition and more of a contest of skill.

ACE – PaddlePro’s updated court locator. It’s amazing what the addition of Google search to the court locator has added. Check it out http://www.paddlepro.com/locations/index.shtml

DEUCE –The APTA website. The “lead” story on the site remained the same article about the May Annual Meeting for a full three months. Didn’t anything happen in the world of platform over the summer? Great to see it finally changed. Hopefully as the new season gets underway, the site will be updated regularly to take advantage of its new multi-screen look and format.

ACE – The Platform Tennis Museum and Hall of Fame Foundation finding a home. It is hoped that many a player and friend of the game will visit when near Chatham, New Jersey.

ACE – The APTA’s decision to no longer penalize a player for the “double hit”. It’s a great decision as the double hit so many times is unnoticeable to anyone other than the striker and inconsequential in the outcome of most points.

FAULT – PaddlePro.com still has the same look it did when it started seven years ago. While PaddlePro clearly remains the “destination” site for all things platform, will we ever see a facelift?
